“Ba Xã” in Vietnamese means “3 Villages”. At the heart of Namia River Retreat’s philosophy is the essence of three distinct villages: Craft Village, River Village, and Light Village. Each village brings its unique charm and significance into the resort’s design and experience.
– Craft Village – comprising of the Welcome Lounge, Mia Merchant, Herb Garden, and Boat Dock – showcases artisanal skills and local craftsmanship, enriching the retreat with handmade beauty and tradition.
– River Village – where Nam Eatery, Main Pool, Kids Zone, and Basket Boats Dock are located – connects guests to the tranquil flow of the Thu Bon River, emphasizing relaxation and natural harmony.
– Light Village – home to the Spa & Wellness Centre, Yoga & Fitness, Honeymoon Villa, and Mindful Wishing Tree – celebrates the magical glow of Hoi An’s lantern-lit streets and the ritual of light for wellbeing, creating an ambiance of warmth and illumination.

The design of Namia River Retreat is deeply inspired by the natural beauty and cultural heritage of our location. Our design story unfolds through three key elements:
The Nipa Palm is a vital part of our local ecosystem in Hoi An. In our Nipa Pool Villa, we’ve translated this natural element into a serene space where natural textures and sustainable materials create a soothing atmosphere. The use of nipa palm-inspired décor evokes the calming presence of the surrounding environment.
Drawing inspiration from the majestic Thu Bon River, our River Pool Villa embodies the serene flow and reflective qualities of the water. The design incorporates gentle curves and flowing lines, creating an ambiance that promotes relaxation and mindfulness.
Our design also honors the rich cultural tapestry of Central Vietnam.
Traditional Vietnamese motifs and craftsmanship are subtly woven into modern comforts, ensuring that every corner of our resort tells a story of its own.
The meticulous translation of these stories into our design is evident in the details. These thoughtful translations ensure that every room and space not only tells a story but also immerses you in a narrative of peace and connection.
The beginning of the Namia River Retreat story happens with Mr. Tran Thanh Nam – CEO of HG Holdings – sharing his childhood memories of growing up in the countryside and his vision for bringing Hoi An culture to the world in a new way. With his vision and Lumina Wellbeing’s thoughtful wellness-oriented hospitality approach, an inspiring collaboration emerged.
